Wilmington Primary School

Parents Association

Welcome to the WPS PA web page!

The Wilmington Primary PA is a friendly bunch of mums and dads who enjoy fundraising for the school by organising fun events throughout the school year.

Every parent and carer is considered a member of the PA and all are welcome to attend meetings and events and put forward suggestions on how to raise funds, or how to improve as a group.

The PA’s main objective is to raise funds for the school. We do that by running activities and events that are enjoyable for everyone who attends!

Details of upcoming events will be included in the weekly Owl Organiser, updated on this web page and highlighted in a termly newsletter.

Upcoming events

PTA AGM - Monday 24th September 2018 at 7pm, in the school hall

More details on all of events – and any additional ones – will be sent out via ParentMail, directly to parents and carers. If you wish to opt out of these emails please let the school office know.

How we fundraise for Wilmington Primary

Throughout the school year, the PA organises a range of different events to raise money for the school. Regular events we run are: termly school discos, mother’s and father’s day gifts sales, a children’s movie night and a summer and Christmas fair.

Of course, we can’t run these events without the support of the parents, teachers and children at Wilmington Primary and we hugely appreciate the brilliant support they always give!

We’re always interested in hearing new ideas to keep our fundraising calendar fresh and would love to hear from any parent or carer with a child at our school.

If you would like to be more involved or have some ideas, please let us know. You can send us a, drop us an email at PA@wilmington-cp.kent.sch.uk, message on our Facebook page (Wilmington Primary Parents Association) or have a chat with one of the PA committee members:

Where the money goes

Each year, the PA raises money and gives those funds to the school, to spend as required to improve the learning environment for our children. In recent years PA funds have provided electronic tablets for the children to use in class, equipment for the SEN room, a contribution to the ‘quiet area’ and brand-new projectors in each classroom.

We couldn’t raise these important funds without the continued support of all the parents, families and friends of children who attend Wilmington Primary, for which we’re very grateful.

How can you help

There are lots of ways you can help support the school and raise funds to benefit your children.

Apart from attending events, we also rely on donation of gifts such as chocolates, toiletries and other items that we use in our fairs for the tombolas and raffles. Larger prices are also welcome for our bi-annual raffles held at the two fairs. We will always inform you through ParentMail when a request for donations is on the way!

Any company sponsorships for events are also very welcome, in return for advertising opportunities in fair programs.

If your employer runs a charity matching scheme, as we are a registered charity, your company could be in a position to provide additional support for your child’s school. Please get in touch to request the school’s charity number and any other details you might need to help with this.

If you have any ideas for additional fund-raising events, or for activities that would fit in with the existing plans, please let us know. We love new idea and introducing new experiences into our fundraising calendar!
